What we do?
Post-tensioning
System used for both civil and building works. The MK4 system has been successfully installed in all types of structures such as standard cast-in-situ overpasses, bridges and viaducts built by various methods such as incremental launching, precast segmentals, balanced cantilevers, precast or cast-in-situ beams and arches, etc.
Structural Bearings
Structural bearings have a wide range of applications that require proper selection, design and installation to ensure optimum performance. MK4 bearings are widely used in civil and structural engineering projects, particularly in bridges. MK4 offers a wide range of structural bearings including POT, spherical, elastomeric, lifting and guide bearings, including the option to monitor the performance of the devices.
Expansion joints
MK4 expansion joints are devices that allow relative movements between two sections of a structure’s deck. All MK4 expansion joints are designed for a 50-year design life and are manufactured to the highest standards.
DMK Cable stay
The advancement of cable-stayed bridges has followed the need to span longer spans more economically and the concept of grand landmarks that this type of bridge introduces to infrastructure networks. Progress is in line with advances in structural analysis and has been followed by the improvement of stay cables since the revival of the cable-stayed bridge typology in 1955.
Methodology for incremental launching of bridges
At MK4 we are specialists and one of the industry leaders in bridge launching. The deck, whether concrete or steel, is built incrementally, using successive segments, in a prefabricated yard located at a certain distance behind one of the bridge abutments. After the addition of each segment, an “incremental launching” operation is carried out, so that the deck advances along its profile to the final position, clearing the assembly yard for the next segment.
Suspended structures
MK4 is a specialist in the design and implementation of structural solutions for the construction of bridges, offering its clients a wide range of engineering solutions for all types of structures, whether cable-stayed, suspended or hanging.
Special Projects
MK4 has a highly experienced team of engineers and technicians, with relevant experience working and developing solutions for the construction industry and is regularly involved in special projects which, due to their size, location or technical complexity, require special tailor-made solutions.
